It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to retire our beloved Forum Detroit. It has served the Polonia Detroit for over 10 years, and was a source of joy for many. However, after many months of inactivity, the time has come to bid it farewell.
Deepest and warmest thanks to all those who contributed to Forum discussions over the years, either by sharing their thoughts or reading those of others. Your presence and participation served as a building block of this online polish community.
Hi friends and family,
I hope this note finds you doing well and enjoying the end of summer.
As you may know, I recently entered the Stephen A. Ross School of
Business at the University of Michigan to pursue my MBA. Today was the
first day of our leadership orientation which was designed to
demonstrate the importance of business leadership in a sustainable
society. The most exciting part of our day was a unique opportunity
that I want to share with you that will help make a difference in our
As part of the Ross Impact Challenge, our section of 85 classmates has
been tasked with a 48-hour challenge to raise awareness and funds for
the Make-A-Wish Foundation Michigan Chapter. The Make-A-Wish
Foundation is an organization which grants wishes to children who have
life-threatening medical conditions. Past wishes have included visits
to major theme parks, family vacations and celebrity encounters. To
date, the Michigan Chapter has granted wishes for over 6,800 children
and we want to help make sure they reach their 7,000th wish milestone
this year. Our goal is to raise over $10,000 to grant wishes and raise
overall awareness about the Foundation.
Your generous donation will also generate further awareness for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation as my colleagues and I will run a 5K charity
race through the city of Ann Arbor on Friday, September 16th. We will
run the race in a costume representing what each of us wished to be
Some important things to know about your donation:
• 100% of funds raised goes directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
• For each dollar spent, nearly 80 cents goes directly to granting
wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions in
• The average wish cost is $7,500 – we hope to make more than one wish
Please limit your donations to $100 for individuals and $500 for
organizations, but know any amount up to these levels will be greatly
appreciated. Should you wish to make a donation, you can do so online

In order for the donations to be processed, they need to be received
no later than 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday, August 31st.
I invite you to share this challenge with your friends and family; the
more we can involve, the greater the impact.
Many, many thanks for your time and consideration. The deadline is
fast approaching and I appreciate your support in helping us give back
to the community.
