Re: Doktor poleca...

W końcu żołnierze składali przysięgę (cytuję za Wikipedią): "Ja, żołnierz Wojska Polskiego, przysięgam służyć wiernie Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, bronić jej niepodległości i granic.

Teraz to zupełnie inne wojsko i inni ludzie.

Re: Doktor poleca...

DO YOU THINK OBAMA MIGHT NOT BE WHAT HE SAYS HE IS?

http://www.newswithviews.com/Roth/laurieA.htm

By Dr. Laurie Roth
May 8, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

“I am a Christian, never a Muslim.” It’s incredible to me as I revisit the emotional and spiritual seduction so many millions had when Obama was running for office. So many were sick of globalist Bush, the Iraq war and Republicans in general. We found ourselves with a handsome, young, rock star black guy who was vividly democrat and liberal competing against the usual Rhino type conservative who was older and was proud of being a compromiser and frankly a globalist, McCain. I had a little hope when they brought in Sarah Palin, a real woman, wife, mom and servant to the people of Alaska who could speak. However, they quickly and stupidly pulled her back and like McCain they tried to moderate her. Bad and fatal move to the campaign interviews and debates!

Like so many others in conservative talk radio and journals, I studied Obama’s voting record and associations pitting them against his articulate and entertaining speeches staring at the prompters. I was stunned that so many, though obviously sick of the Iraq struggle and mad at Bush would think that this empty shirt, Obama could actually bring the change America needed! NO, I won’t call him an empty shirt because he has nasty things in all his pockets. “Empty” at least reflects ignorance that would be bad but more understandable.

Just the facts please

Is Obama the sincere Christian so many believe he is?

He told the G 20 folks in his last big overseas series of meetings that WE WERE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION.

He gladly bowed low to the King of Saudi Arabia, something a U.S. President has never done.

He broke a long-standing tradition when the White House demanded that the symbol of Jesus Christ be covered up before his speech at Georgetown University on April 24th. This was unprecedented by and American President. Most recently, former President Bush and Laura Bush spoke at the same podium and never asked for the symbol of Jesus Christ to be covered up. Obviously, someone has a little issue with Jesus……….hmm.

Now we have him refusing to even attend the National Day of Prayer gathering on May 11th, 2009.

What is President Obama’s goal in leadership?

Obama wants and plans for the U.S. to submit to international leadership and the UN.

It doesn’t take a great IQ to see the over reach of Obama and this administration trying to force our country into submission with the International community and UN. He is supportive and so are many liberal members of this congress, of the U.N. Rights of the Child (UNCRC). It sounds at first glimpse innocent until you study what they want to do. It would render the rights of all parents to raise their children, impotent. There could be no more love pats, or swats, don’t be thinking about forcing little Suzie to church. If she was distressed about going to church one Sunday and told a school counselor it would be a violation of the rights of your child to make her go. Foster care and authorities might just show up at your door. Don’t mess with the rights of your child with the Internet either….. on and on.

For that matter, with Barney Frank’s Hate Crimes bill, protecting pedophiles and over 500 different sexual absurdities, crimes and much deviance, don’t be thinking you can bonk a pedophile over the head if he is attacking your young daughter. You could be committing a felony and hate crime and he could be committing a misdemeanor. Isn’t that precious?

We have also seen Obama and his administration pushing FOCA, the freedom of Choice Act which would force all Doctors, hospitals, Christian/Catholic or not and all states (even if laws were on the books against abortion) to give abortions on demand. Maybe that is why one of the many things listed in the Homeland Security Report, the day before the April 15th Tea Parties as a potential domestic terror danger were people who believed in state and federal sovereignty.

We have seen Obama and his administration recently pressuring and allegedly threatening many lenders who didn’t want to sell Chrysler. They were threatened with ruination if they didn’t cooperate and sell. GM will even be more complicated and horrific as they fall apart and the Government swoops in to control them.

We have already heard of and I have spoken and written about in previous articles, the many banks who did not want the bail out money. They were all pressured to take at least 5 billion each or none would get it. I talked directly with two high up banking contacts that were straight up and verified that. Then when the banks tried to pay it back as soon as possible congress would not take the funds back.

The only thing you can figure with this ridiculous scenario is that Obama and this administration want total control of the banking industry, auto industry, if he has his way, parental rights. The control attempts and plans continue on. We will see a strong push for forced gun registration and manipulated environmental controls and taxation. You know, the huge worldwide, global warming melt down that doesn’t really exist?

What can one assume from the first 100 days in this administration?

Obama is NOT a Christian.
Obama is NOT a Capitalist but a totally dedicated socialist/Marxist.
Obama is in love with being popular to the world but hates the US and its sovereignty.
Obama has little or no loyalty at all to our best allie in the Middle East, Israel.
Obama believes in big Government control in all areas of our lives.

This is not my vision for America; I hope to God it isn’t yours. Organize and plan LARGER Tea Parties July 4th. Work very hard to find and back REAL leaders to run in each of your states and get behind them in an assertive way. Let’s regain the House in the mid term elections and work on getting back the Senate. Finally, let’s vote this nightmare out of office after 4 years and start to repair the damage!

Re: Doktor poleca...

The Anti-Hummers: Fuel-Efficient Smaller Vehicles

Even though gas prices are down to reasonable levels again (for now), gas mileage in the teens is definitely out. The car companies can’t give away large SUVs and trucks. Efficiency is in.

The good news is modern small cars don’t suck — and not just gas, either. They typically have 30-40 percent more power under the hood than the econoboxes of the ’80s, reach 60 mph in around 10 seconds (vs. 20-30 seconds in the Bad Old Days), easily handle 70 mph highway driving, are built much more substantially, have (or offer) creature comforts that used to be luxury car-only (such as climate control AC, GPS and excellent stereos) and they get 40 mpg (or better) doing it.

Check ‘em out:

2009.5 Nissan Versa 1.6 (Base price: $9,990)

While the ‘09 Versa itself is basically the same car as last year, Nissan has just added a new 1.6 liter “value edition” to the lineup that is priced about $2,000 below the sticker price of last year’s least expensive Versa (which cost about $12k) as well as competitors like the Toyota Yaris ($12,965), Hyundai Accent sedan ($12,920) and Chevy Aveo sedan ($11,965).

The up-front savings can be equivalent to nearly a year’s worth of free gas relative to the cost of competitors — and the Versa’s mileage figures of 26 city/34 highway will save on gas costs down the road, too.

The icing on the cake is the Versa’s surprisingly roomy interior, which offers more head and legroom (especially for back seat occupants) than most competitors.

* 2009 BMW Mini Cooper (Base price: $18,550)

The Mini is a modern reincarnation of the iconic ’60s-era Mini Cooper micro-car. Like the original, it’s small on the outside but amazingly roomy inside. It’s also both sporty and economical, so its technical classification is as unique as its looks. It can be a much more fun alternative to a traditional economy compact — or it can be a high-mileage, high-performance alternative to a gas-slurping sports car.

The two-door, four-seater Mini only weighs about 2,500 lbs. — which is why you get 0-60 in less than 8 seconds and 37 mpg on the highway. Even city mileage (28 MPG) is exceptional given the zippiness of the car. Also, the Mini’s six-speed transmission (both the automatic and the manual) is a noteworthy feature at the $18k price point. Most cars in this price range only come with five-speeds.

Even the base $18k model is well-equipped with AC, six-speaker stereo, power windows and locks, tilt/telescoping wheel and leatherette trim all included.

* 2010 Honda Insight (MSRP: $19,800)

This five-door hatchback hybrid is a Great Leap Forward in terms of practicality compared with the old two-seater micro-compact Insight hybrid of the late 1990s. Instead of seating just two, it can take five — or two and a mountain bike. The Insight’s second row seats fold flat to create a 32 cubic foot cargo space, which is made even more usable by the car’s tall roofline. Even with the second row in place, there’s still almost 16 cubic feet of “trunk” space left behind them — comparable to a current large sedan.

But the Insight’s strongest hand is its hybrid gas-electric powertrain, which can return 40 MPG in city driving and 43 on the highway.

Like the Toyota Prius, the Insight is a full hybrid that is fully capable of operating on electric/battery power alone up to 30 mph or so. In city-type stop-and-go driving, the gas engine may run only intermittently, in order to maximize efficiency.

The Insight has one other card to play, too. It comes nicely equipped with AC, power windows and locks plus a decent stereo all standard — at a price that’s thousands of dollars less than the cost of its archrival, the Toyota Prius, which begins at $23,500.

* 2010 Toyota Prius (MSRP $23,500)

The Prius has been in service for more than ten years now — more than proving the viability of hybrid gas-electric powertrains. If problems were going to happen, they probably would have cropped up by now. This track record of durability is one of the Prius’ strongest selling points. Also, that it is the most fuel-efficient hybrid on the market right now, capable of 51 MPGs in city driving and 48 on the highway. This superior performance at the pump could also offset its higher up-front cost relative to the new Honda Insight hybrid.

The Prius is also powerful, as hybrids go. Its tandem gas-electric drivetrain boasts a fairly large 1.8 liter gasoline engine that produces 134 hp. This is boosted when necessary by an electric battery pack and drive motors. Its acceleration is thus a bit sharper than the Insight’s — which makes due with a smaller 1.3 liter, 98 hp engine (plus battery packs/motors).

The 2010 Prius is also a little larger — with more room for back seat occupants as well as more total cargo capacity, 40 cubic feet with the second row down and 21.4 with the second row up. It may thus be a better choice for those who need the extra space.

Like the Insight, the Prius is very high-tech both functionally and in terms of its futuristic dash layout, which includes touch-screen displays as well as an unusual toggle-style shifter for the automatic transmission. It takes a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it, you’ll feel like you’re driving a car from 20 years from now.

* 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI (MSRP $23,789)

Diesel powered vehicles are making a comeback — and can be a great alternative to a hybrid like the Insight or the Prius.

Diesel powered vehicles are making a comeback in the United States and can be a great alternative to a hybrid like the Insight or the Prius — especially if you do a lot of highway driving. Hybrids are at their best at speeds under 40 mph, but diesels are optimized for efficient high-speed use.

The Sportwagen is capable of 41 MPG on the highway and 30 MPG in city driving — efficiency that rivals the best hybrids (and beats most gas-engined compact-economy cars). It is also a good performer, reaching 60 mph about 2 seconds sooner than either the Prius or the Insight, with ample power for extended high-speed highway driving.

The “sport” part of Sportwagen is also manifested in the availability of a six-speed manual transmission. The hybrids are all automatic-only.

Potential buyers who haven’t driven a diesel-powered passenger car lately should be aware that in addition to high performance and high mileage, modern diesels like the Sportwagen are also quiet and free of the noxious black soot spewing from the exhaust pipe that was once a diesel downside back in the Bad Old Days.

Today, the only negative to diesel ownership is the fuel — which can be pricey. And the pumps — which can be grimy. The first is offset by the superior mileage, as well as down-the-road longevity, of the diesel engine. As for the second, keep an old glove in the trunk and you’ll be all set.

* 2010 BMW 335d (MSRP $43,900)

In Europe, high-mileage and high-performance diesel luxury-sport sedans are commonplace. Here in the U.S., we’re finally getting access to some of these remarkable cars — the newest of which is BMW’s diesel-powered 3-series sedan.

The 335d’s six-cylinder diesel engine returns 36 mpg on the highway (23 in city driving) or about the same mileage as you’d get in a conventional front-wheel-drive subcompact economy car like the Toyota Yaris or Honda Civic — except you get to drive a luxury rear-wheel-drive sport sedan instead.

Its 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds ought to convince any doubters.

The chief negative here is the 335d’s price tag — which is $10,300 higher than the price of a standard 328i sedan with gasoline engine ($33,600). However, the diesel is much more powerful, quicker and gets much better mileage (the 328i’s figures are 18 city and 28 highway). BMW also pads the 335d with features such as 17-inch wheels, power (and heated) seats, a better audio system and other upgrades that are either extra cost options or not offered on the lower cost/base versions of the 3-Series sedan.

Bottom line, the diesel lets you have your luxury car cake and decent fuel economy, too.

Re: Doktor poleca...

7 Features That May Be In Your Next New Car

New cars are (literally) the vehicles for showcasing new technology. Take a look at some of the features you might find in your next new ride:

1) Around View Monitor

Infiniti (Nissan’s luxury car division) has developed an unusual “panorama view” back up camera that’s available on certain models, including the ‘09 FX-series crossover wagon. It gives the driver a bird’s-eye view (as seen from above) of the perimeter around the entire car — not just what’s behind the rear bumper. Mini-cameras with wide-angle lenses are at the heart of the system.

Around View works with the vehicle in drive as well as reverse (at low speeds up to about 5 mph) to help make maneuvering in tightly confined spaces, such as enclosed and often poorly lit parking garages, easier as well as safer.

Caveat: The image displayed on the LCD monitor is slightly distorted, which can make accurately judging exactly how much room you’ve got to work with a less than a precise science. Always check twice before backing up — and proceed slowly.

2) MyKey

This system, developed by Ford, is basically an electronic valet key for teenaged drivers. It allows parents to temporarily limit the potential top speed of the vehicle to 80 mph, as well as control other in-car functions, including the maximum volume of the stereo. It can also be programmed to emit warning chimes if a pre-set speed is exceeded or the occupants (including passengers) aren’t wearing their seat belts. An owner-programmable ignition key is the heart of the system.

MyKey will initially be standard in the 2010 Focus compact and Escape hybrid SUV — and reportedly will become standard in all Ford vehicles by 2012.

Caveat: Not a substitute for parental supervision of teen drivers, nor a substitute for proper training of teenaged drivers.

3) Automatic Braking/”Active” Collision Avoidance

Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, this technology uses sonar or radar to detect objects in the vehicle’s path (or excessive closing speed between your vehicle and another car)) and can apply the brakes automatically, without any input from the driver. In Benz cars like the 2010 E and S-Class sedans, the system works with the cruise control to decelerate and accelerate the vehicle with the ebb and flow of traffic. It can bring the car to a complete stop and resume the vehicle’s speed when the way ahead is clear without the driver touching either brake or gas pedals.

The system is designed as both an emergency safety measure — applying the brakes in the event the driver fails to notice a potentially dangerous situation, such as suddenly stopped traffic ahead — and a convenience, since it allows “set and forget” cruise control operation. Lexus offers similar technology in its LS-series luxury sedan, as do BMW, Audi and others.

Caveat: Safe driving still requires full time and attention. Use this technology as a safety assist, not a replacement for attentive driving.

4) Lane Departure Warning

Infiniti pioneered this system — which emits a warning beep whenever the vehicle begins to stray over the double yellow line.  It is intended to save people from the possible consequences of their own inadvertence and could potentially reduce accidents — especially those involving a car and a motorcycle (cars wandering into the opposing lane of traffic, particularly in a curve, are a leading cause of car-motorcycle crashes).

Several other manufacturers — including GM’s Cadillac and Buick divisions, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Audi — either offer or will offer the same basic system in some of their new cars.

Caveat: The system is not foolproof and can be annoying/distracting when it beeps unnecessarily, as when driving across parking lots or other areas where it’s necessary to drive over painted lines, as at intersections. The good news is these systems can be turned off manually by pushing a button.

5) Driver Alertness Monitor

Another feature developed by Mercedes-Benz, this system can detect a falling-asleep-at-the-wheel driver — and uses a voice warning to try to wake him up. Signs of a drowsy driver — decreased/inappropriate steering and throttle inputs — are noted by the car’s electronic sensors and after a certain point, an audible warning (”Attention Assist! Brake!”) is triggered.

Available on most of Mercedes’ higher-end models, including the new 2010 E-Class sedan. Volvo reportedly also will offer similar technology on some of its pending 2010 and 2011 models as well — including the S80 luxury sedan.

Caveat: It’s possible the sudden audible warning could startle an already half-asleep driver and cause him to jerk the wheel or jam on the brakes. Such situations should be avoided by getting plenty of rest before you drive, especially on a long trip — and stopping for a rest when you begin to feel tired. A good rule of thumb is a leg-stretch/bathroom break every 3-4 hours and an overnight stop after 8-10 hours behind the wheel.

6) Modern “Mileage Meters”

In the ’70s, during the last energy crunch, some cars had primitive fuel economy gauges that translated the engine’s vacuum signal into “high” and “low” gas mileage readings on a gauge in the instrument cluster. When you pushed down on the gas pedal and engine vacuum dropped, so did the mileage reading on the gauge. When you backed off the gas — and vacuum increased — so did the mileage reading.

Today’s gas-electric hybrids like the 2010 Honda Insight and Toyota Prius have similar-in-concept mileage meters — but the displays are typically digital and displayed on a flat-screen monitor. And the parameters are more expansive. The display will show you when, how much — and and in what proportion — the gas engine and its tandem electric motor/battery packs are being used. By watching the ebb and flow of power under various driving conditions, the display can teach you how to drive for best-possible fuel economy.

Caveat: Some hybrid owners have become so enamored of their mileage meters that they aren’t paying as much attention to traffic around them as they ought to — or they’re driving in a manner that obstructs the traffic around them, by accelerating much more slowly than other vehicles or coasting in order to keep the gauge’s readouts in the green. Gas mileage is important, but so is being courteous to fellow motorists.

7) Solar Cooling/Anti-Smog Air Conditioning

The 2010 Toyota Prius hybrid tries to save energy in lots of small ways that can add up to big overall savings. One such trick is to use a small, solar-powered ventilation fan to evacuate stagnant, hot air while the Prius is parked — so that the AC system won’t have to work as hard (and use as much energy) to cool the interior down when the owner returns.

Lexus, meanwhile, has developed a “smart” air conditioner that not only has a pollen/particulate filter (many late model luxury cars already have this feature) it can also detect when the outside air is smoggy, dusty or full of pollen — and when it does, it automatically puts the system into recirculation mode, preventing the outside air from entering the car’s cabin. The system goes back to normal operation when it senses the outside air quality has improved.

Caveat: None; these are both pretty sensible ideas with no apparent downsides.
